Ingredients
4 slices thick bread (brioche or challah if you can big upgrade)
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. butter
1/3 cup Nutella
Maple syrup, for serving
Optional: powdered sugar, strawberries, banana slices
Directions
Step 1 – Make the custard In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth and fully combined. Make sure the eggs are fully broken up so you don’t get random eggy spots on the bread. (smooth custard = smooth results)
Step 2 – Build the Nutella layer Take two slices of bread and spread a generous layer of Nutella on one side of each. Press them together like a sandwich. Repeat with the other two slices. (don’t be shy here this is not the time for “just a little”)
Step 3 – Dip the bread Dip each Nutella sandwich into the custard, letting it soak for a few seconds on each side. You want it coated, not falling apart. (thicker bread helps a lot here it holds everything together)
Step 4 – Cook it low and steady Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place the French toast in the pan and cook for about 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crisp on the outside. If it’s browning too fast, lower the heat so the inside warms through without burning the outside. (low and steady = melted center, high heat = regret)
Step 5 – Serve like you meant it Slice each piece diagonally so the Nutella shows, then plate it up. Drizzle with maple syrup and add powdered sugar or fruit if you want to push it further. (cutting it open is part of the presentation don’t skip it)
Rizz Tip
“Take a bite… then tell me if I deserve a French kiss.”
