Ingredients
Beef
1 lb 85/15 ground beef
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 onion, diced
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
Salt + pepper

Carbs
1 lb potatoes, diced

Finish
1 Tbsp butter
Optional: shredded cheese or hot sauce

Directions

Step 1 – Start the Potatoes First
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and add the diced potatoes in a single layer. Let them sit for a few minutes before stirring so they start building a golden crust.
Cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they’re crispy on the outside and soft inside. If they’re pale, they’re not ready yet.

Step 2 – Build the Beef Base
In a separate pan, add the ground beef and press it into the pan so it has full contact. Let it sit for 2–3 minutes before breaking it apart so it develops real browning.
If you stir too early, you lose all that flavor and end up with basic ground beef again.

Step 3 – Add Onion and Seasoning
Break the beef into chunks and add diced onion, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir occasionally and let parts of it stay in contact with the pan so you keep texture.
You want a mix of crispy edges and softer pieces, not one uniform texture.

Step 4 – Bring It Together
Add the cooked potatoes into the beef pan and mix everything together lightly. Don’t mash it or overmix it, just combine enough so every bite has both.
Now it’s a real meal, not two separate things sitting next to each other.

Step 5 – Add the Bulk Upgrade
Lower the heat and add butter, letting it melt into everything. Stir lightly so it coats the mixture without making it greasy.
This is what pushes calories up without making the meal harder to eat.

Step 6 – Optional Flavor Boost
If you want more flavor, add a little shredded cheese or hot sauce on top. Keep it controlled so it adds to the meal instead of taking over.
This is where you can switch it up depending on the day.

Step 7 – Challenge Before You Eat
Before you sit down, hit 20 pushups. You’re about to eat big, so act like it.

Step 8 – Eat Like It’s the Goal
Serve it hot and eat the full portion. Don’t split it just because it looks like a lot.
If you’re serious about gaining, this is what it actually looks like.
