Burrata Out Your Clothes

Ingredients

2 thick slices sourdough or rustic bread
1 ball burrata
3–4 fresh figs, sliced
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. honey
Pinch of salt
Pinch of black pepper
Optional: balsamic glaze, prosciutto, crushed pistachios

Directions

Step 1 – Toast the bread properly Toast or grill the bread until golden brown on the outside but still soft in the center. If using a pan, lightly brush with olive oil before toasting for extra flavor and a better crust. Don’t rush this — the bread is your base and needs to hold everything without getting soggy. (you want crunch, not something that collapses halfway through)

Step 2 – Prep the figs right Slice the figs into quarters or thin slices depending on size. If they’re very ripe, handle them gently so they don’t fall apart. Let them sit for a minute after cutting — they’ll naturally release a little sweetness. (this is what gives the dish that “expensive” feel without doing much)

Step 3 – Build the base (this is the moment) Place the toasted bread on your plate. Take the burrata and tear it open directly on top of the bread instead of placing it whole. Let it fall naturally and spread — don’t try to control it too much. (imperfect placement actually looks better here)

Step 4 – Layer with intention Arrange the figs over the burrata, slightly overlapping them instead of stacking randomly. Let some areas show more cheese and others more fruit so it doesn’t look flat. (this is what separates “made food” from “plated food”)

Step 5 – Finish the flavor balance Drizzle olive oil lightly over everything, then add the honey in a thin stream. Finish with a pinch of salt and black pepper. If using balsamic, add just a small drizzle. If using pistachios, sprinkle them last for texture. (sweet + creamy + salty + crunch = this is the formula)

Step 6 – Serve immediately Serve while the bread is still warm and the burrata is soft. Don’t let it sit too long or the texture changes. (this is a right-now dish, not a wait-around dish)

“You might want to sit a little closer for this one.” 😏

Rizz Tip

“If they slow down mid-bite and look at you… don’t say anything. Just hold it for a second.” 😏
