Ingredients

2 apples, thinly sliced
1 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp walnuts, finely chopped
1 tsp honey
1 pinch sea salt

Optional
nutmeg
pumpkin spice
dark chocolate drizzle

Directions

Step 1 – Slice the Apples Thinly

Preheat the oven to 225 degrees and slice the apples into very thin even rounds using a knife or mandoline. (Thin slices are what create crisp apple chips instead of soft baked apples.)

Try to keep the slices consistent so they dry evenly.

Step 2 – Build Flavor Lightly

Arrange the apple slices onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and lightly drizzle with honey. Sprinkle cinnamon, chopped walnuts, and a tiny pinch of sea salt evenly across the slices. (The small amount of salt helps make the sweetness and cinnamon stand out much more.)

The walnuts lightly toast during baking and add extra texture.

Step 3 – Bake Low and Slow

Bake the apples for about 1 hour, then carefully flip them and continue baking another 45 minutes to 1 hour until lightly crisp. (Lower heat slowly removes moisture instead of burning the apples.)

The chips continue crisping slightly even after leaving the oven.

Step 4 – Let Them Cool Completely

Allow the apple chips to cool fully before storing or serving. (Warm apple chips can still feel soft until they finish drying while cooling.)

If they still feel too soft, return them to the oven a little longer.

Step 5 – Upgrade Sweet Cravings

Recipes like this work well because they still feel sweet, crunchy, and snackable while naturally relying more on fruit and simple ingredients instead of heavily processed desserts. (Sometimes healthier eating is just learning how to recreate textures and flavors people already crave.)

These also pair really well with yogurt or nut butter for a more filling dessert.

Fork Cancer Tip

Apples, walnuts, cinnamon, and fruit-based desserts are commonly associated with fiber-rich and nutrient-dense eating patterns that support balanced nutrition and overall wellness.
