I Can’t Bear This

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Optional: chocolate chips (for eyes), banana slices (for ears), whipped cream

Directions

Step 1 – Make the batter right In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined. Add the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla, then whisk until the batter comes together. It should be smooth but still slightly thick — don’t overmix it trying to make it perfect. A few small lumps are fine and actually help keep the pancakes soft. (overmixing = tough pancakes, we’re not doing that)

Step 2 – Heat the pan with control Place a nonstick pan over medium-low heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil. Give it a minute to heat up — not too hot. If it’s too hot, the outside cooks before the inside sets, and your bear turns into something… else. (low heat = control, control = clean shapes)

Step 3 – Build the bear shape Start by pouring a medium-sized circle for the face. Let it sit for about 20–30 seconds so it begins to set slightly. Then add two smaller circles at the top for ears. If needed, you can add a little extra batter to connect them gently. (face first, ears second — timing matters here)

Step 4 – Cook it slowly Let the pancake cook for about 2–3 minutes until bubbles start forming on the surface and the edges look set. Slide your spatula carefully underneath and flip in one smooth motion. Cook another 1–2 minutes until lightly golden. (don’t rush the flip — that’s how the bear survives)

Step 5 – Add the details Once plated, use chocolate chips for eyes or a nose, or keep it minimal so the shape stands out. If using bananas or whipped cream, keep it light so it doesn’t cover the face. (simple details hit harder than overdoing it)

Step 6 – Serve immediately Serve while warm so the inside stays soft and fluffy. The outside should be lightly golden with a soft center. (this is a “right away” breakfast — not a let-it-sit one)

Rizz Tip

“If they smile when they see it… don’t say anything. Just let that moment sit.” 😏
