Ingredients
Protein
1 lb lean ground turkey or lean ground beef
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
Salt + pepper

Base
1 cup cooked rice

Toppings
1/2 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup corn
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup pico de gallo or diced tomato
1/2 avocado, mashed or sliced

Optional
Greek yogurt
Hot sauce
Lime juice
Green onions

Directions

Step 1 – Build the Protein First
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat, then add the ground turkey or beef. Press it into the pan and let it sit for a minute or two before breaking it apart so it gets some color.
This is where the taco flavor starts, so don’t stir it into sad little crumbles immediately.

Step 2 – Season Like You Mean It
Add garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper once the meat is mostly cooked. Stir everything together and let it finish cooking until the meat is browned and evenly seasoned.
If it smells like tacos and discipline, you’re on the right track.

Step 3 – Warm the Base
Heat your cooked rice until it’s hot and soft. Keep the rice portion controlled so the bowl stays filling without turning into a bulk meal.
You’re not skipping carbs here, you’re just using them like you have a plan.

Step 4 – Prep the Fresh Toppings
Drain and rinse the black beans, warm the corn if needed, and prep your pico or diced tomato. Mash or slice the avocado so it’s ready to go before you start building the bowl.
This keeps the bowl fresh and colorful instead of looking like plain meat and rice again.

Step 5 – Build the Bowl Cleanly
Add rice to the bottom of your bowl, then layer the taco meat on one side. Add black beans, corn, cheese, pico, and avocado in separate sections so the bowl looks full and intentional.
This should look like something you’d order, not something you panic-built after scrolling DoorDash.

Step 6 – Add the Finish
Add a squeeze of lime, a little hot sauce, or a spoonful of Greek yogurt if you want it creamier. Keep it light so the calories stay controlled.
You’re adding flavor, not turning the bowl into a sauce pool.

Step 7 – Quick Challenge
Before eating, hit 20 pushups or a 30-second plank. You made a taco bowl that fits the cut, so now act like you’re serious for half a minute.
No excuses. The bowl already did its part.

Step 8 – Eat or Meal Prep
Eat it right away while the meat and rice are warm, or portion it into containers for later. If meal prepping, keep avocado and pico separate until serving so everything stays fresh.
This is your burrito bowl fix without blowing the whole plan.
