Ingredients
Chicken
1 lb chicken breast
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Rice
1 cup jasmine rice
2 cups water
1/2 tsp salt

Fresh Add-Ons
1/2 cucumber, sliced
1/2 cup shredded carrots

Directions

Step 1 – Get the Rice Dialed In
Prepare your rice using your standard method and keep it covered once it’s done so it stays warm. Let it rest before fluffing so the texture finishes properly instead of clumping.
(This consistency is what makes your weekly prep feel easy instead of chaotic.)

Step 2 – Cut the Chicken for Better Results
Slice your chicken into even strips before cooking so everything cooks at the same pace. Season thoroughly on all sides, pressing the seasoning in so it sticks.
(Even cuts = no dry edges and no undercooked centers. This step matters more than it looks.)

Step 3 – Cook with Control
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add the chicken in a single layer. Let it cook 4–5 minutes per side until lightly browned and cooked through, without moving it too much.
Avoid overcrowding the pan—cook in batches if needed so you don’t trap moisture.
(Too much in the pan = steam instead of sear, and that’s how meals turn boring.)

Step 4 – Build a Little Texture
Let the chicken sit in the pan for another minute once it’s cooked so it picks up a bit more color. You don’t need a heavy crust, just enough to give it some structure.
While it sits, knock out 15–20 pushups. No reason to just stand there waiting.

Step 5 – Prep the Fresh Elements
While the chicken is finishing, slice your cucumber and prepare the carrots so everything is ready to go. Keep the cuts clean and consistent so each bite feels balanced.
(This is what makes the bowl feel fresh instead of heavy and repetitive.)

Step 6 – Build the Bowl Cleanly
Add rice first, then layer the chicken on top, followed by the vegetables. Spread everything out instead of piling it into one spot so the bowl looks full and intentional.
(Visually cleaner = mentally cleaner. It matters more than you think.)

Step 7 – Finish with Intent
Add any sauce or acidity after reheating if you’re meal prepping so the texture stays fresh. A squeeze of lemon or light sauce can wake the whole thing up.
(A little acidity or crunch keeps this from getting repetitive across the week.)

Step 8 – Eat and Move On
Sit down and eat the full portion while it’s warm. Don’t overthink it or treat it like “just meal prep.”
This is one of those meals that quietly keeps everything on track.
