Ingredients
Beef
1.25 lb ground beef
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
Salt + pepper

Potato Base
1.5 lb potatoes, diced
1 Tbsp olive oil
Salt + pepper

Burger Bowl Toppings
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomato
1/4 cup diced pickles
1/4 cup diced onion
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Burger Sauce
1/3 cup Greek yogurt
1 Tbsp ketchup
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp pickle juice
Salt + pepper

Directions

Step 1 – Build the “Fries” First
Dice the potatoes into small, even pieces so they cook faster and get more crispy edges. Toss them with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread them in a pan or on a baking tray in a single layer.
This is your burger bowl base, so don’t treat the potatoes like an afterthought. If they come out crispy, the whole bowl instantly feels more like burger-and-fries instead of another boring prep meal.

Step 2 – Cook the Potatoes Until They Actually Hit
Cook the potatoes over medium heat in a pan for 15–20 minutes, or roast them at 425°F until golden and crisp on the outside. Stir or flip them occasionally so they brown evenly without turning into one big pile.
You’re looking for crispy edges and soft centers. Pale potatoes are not invited to the bulk section.

Step 3 – Build the Beef Base
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat, then add the ground beef and press it down into an even layer. Let it sit for 2–3 minutes before breaking it apart so the bottom gets a real sear.
This is where the burger flavor starts. If you stir it immediately, you lose the crust and end up with sad taco meat energy.

Step 4 – Season Like a Burger, Not Just Beef
Break the beef into chunks and add garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it keep browning while you stir occasionally, leaving some pieces in contact with the pan long enough to get crispy edges.
You want it to taste like a smashed burger got turned into a bowl. That means texture, seasoning, and a little attitude.

Step 5 – Make the Burger Sauce
In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, salt, and pepper until smooth. Taste it and adjust if needed, adding more pickle juice if you want it sharper or more ketchup if you want it sweeter.
This sauce is what makes the bowl feel like a burger instead of just beef and potatoes wearing a disguise.

Step 6 – Prep the Toppings
Dice the tomato, pickles, and onion, then shred or chop the lettuce if needed. Keep everything small enough that each bite gets a little crunch, sauce, beef, and potato together.
This is where the bowl gets that burger-shop feel. No giant onion chunks trying to ruin your life.

Step 7 – Build the Bowl Like You Mean It
Start with the crispy potatoes, then pile the beef over the top while it’s still hot. Add the shredded cheese right away so it softens slightly from the heat.
Now you’ve got hot beef, crispy potatoes, and melted cheese working together. This is no longer “meal prep,” this is controlled burger chaos.

Step 8 – Add the Fresh Stuff
Top with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion. Keep the fresh toppings on top instead of mixing them all in immediately so the crunch stays alive.
That hot-and-cold contrast is what makes this bowl actually fun to eat.

Step 9 – Sauce It Properly
Drizzle the burger sauce over the top, or keep it on the side if you’re meal prepping. If storing for later, keep the lettuce and sauce separate until serving so everything doesn’t turn soggy.
Nobody wants a wet burger bowl. We are bulking, not suffering.

Step 10 – Challenge Before You Eat
Before sitting down, hit 20 pushups or a 30-second plank. You’re about to eat a burger bowl with crispy potatoes and double beef, so act like you earned it.
No scrolling while the cheese melts. Lock in.

Step 11 – Eat Like It’s a Heavy Day
Sit down and eat the full portion while it’s warm. Don’t split it in half unless that was actually your plan from the start.
This is the heavy-day meal that makes gaining feel less like a chore and more like something you’d actually look forward to.
